So I made her the queen of my double wide trailer

I bought my mobile home new and I haven't done any home improvements since I moved in. I decided it's time for some change! The kitchen has printed dry wall covered with blue and burgundy flowers. After 13 years, I'm tired of looking at those flowers. This weekend I'm going to prime the walls and cover the flowers. For some, this may be no big deal but for someone like me that hasn't done much painting, this will be a challenge. I've helped people paint before but I've never taken on a project like this. I'm using an oil based primer so I'll have to tape around everything and the majority of it will be cutting. I'm nervous to say the least.

Between priming the walls, painting, and putting up new curtains it'll probably take me a couple of weeks. I'll post before and after pictures but don't expect a kitchen overhaul. I'm still stuck with my same appliances, countertops, sink and floor but it'll be an improvement. I hope.

The whole world's upside down baby

Oh, did I tell you I'm going to be an aunt again in May. I didn't. That's because we all just found out 6 weeks ago...including my sister and brother in law. That's right folks, my sister didn't know she was 7 months pregnant until she felt a baby kicking in her stomach. Surprise! Thankfully the baby seems healthy and of a good weight. And it's a boy...Andrew Scott.

Speaking of pregnancy...not one but two of Amber's friends are pregnant. Including her best friend, Danielle. Both of these girls are 15 years old! Danielle is due in June and Samantha in August. You would not believe the looks I get from the public when Danielle is with us. Sometimes I feel like wearing a sign that says "She's not my kid!"

One of my youngest cousins is also pregnant but she's happily married and 25 years old. I remember like it was yesterday the day she was born. I watched her grow up and now she's having a baby. I feel so old...

...but look so good.

Just like a tattoo

Wow! It's been a long time since I updated...I'm surprised I even remembered my password.

I'm at home today because of the bad weather and bored out of my mind. I don't see how people can be stay at home parents. But I guess they're not confined to their house every day so maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Work can be really stressful and aggravating but at least I have something to do all day.

Florida was fun but driving with other people is just not my thing. That won't happen again. By the time we got back, everyone was at each other's throat and everyone went their separate ways without saying goodbye. My sister still hasn't talked to her father in law because of an incident that happened on the way home. Live and learn.

Life has been quite boring lately.  I'm still single, 6 months now. It's not bad except for one thing and if you put your mind in the gutter you can figure out that one.

Last Sunday was my birthday and it was fine except my best friend CM forgot it. It really hurt my feelings and even though she called the next day apologizing on my voice mail, I still haven't called her back. She is so wrapped up in her beer and her boyfriend that she obvisously doesn't have time for me. I guess I really need to write a post about our friendship because there's so much to say. It's hard to believe we were so close for so long and now, she forgets my fuckin birthday! Moving on...

Amber is good. We still spend tons of time together. She's been driving and gets better each time. It's funny because now she has become a back seat driver and will stomp on an imaginary brake pedal from the passenger side. She never use to do that!

My Mom and Dad are leaving Florida tomorrow because my grandpa is with hospice and is expected to pass anytime. He had a stroke 3 years ago and his health has steadily gone down hill since. I hate the thought of my Mom and Dad driving 700 miles in crappy weather without stopping but my Dad wants to get home to see his Dad before he goes. My grandpa is 89 years old and has lived a long, good life so it isn't terribly sad but death in general is not a happy thing.

Just to leave things on a happy note...Even though I turned 36 last weekend, I got carded for cigarettes and a new waitress at Marty's thought Amber and I were sisters. I still got it!!

Ooo I wanna take you

It was a long drive to Florida! And I will never ride with my sister and her in-laws again. First, my sister's father-in-law drives under the speed limit. Then they stopped for gas everytime they got close to a half tank. This is 2007, there's practically a gas station at every exit. We were on interstates for God's sake! On top of all that, my sister's in-laws (after 12 and half hours of being on the road) stopped and visited with their cousins in Alabama. We still had 2 hours to go and we were tired! Amber and I hadn't slept well the night before because we stayed at the in-law's house and left at 2:00 in the morning and they stop to visit relatives!! The trip should've taken us about 12 and half hours but instead it took us close to 15 hours (with 1 stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast). It was ridiculous! When we got here my Mom asked what took us so long and my sister says it's because we kept asking them to stop for bathroom breaks. I almost went crazy on her!! Amber, her friend or I never requested for them to stop...shit we stopped every 150 miles for gas! We didn't need to request bathroom breaks!

But now we're here, it's 70 degrees and I don't have to go back to work until Jan. 7th so I'm happy!

LTW, the problem was the date was set on Jan 2000.

The devil's in the house of the risin' sun

Back in October I went camping at Devils Elbow with a couple of friends. We stayed on the property of the Elbow Inn, which meant we could walk to the bar from our campsite. The Elbow Inn is a small biker bar with an outside patio complete with a bonfire. I met the owner Terry and I can see why people come from all around to drink there. The place was packed on Saturday night! The day we were there, some bikers had gotten married and were having their reception at the "Elbow." The bride wore black leather with a black durag adorning her head. This is my friend Wayne with the bride:

A picture of the outside with the bikes:

And the inside...look at the ceiling. (Like hell was I willing to put one of my $40 bras up there):

I played pool all night on that table while drinking whatever whiskey they could find. I finished off their Jack Daniels, then moved to Gentlemens Jack and ended the night with (gag me) Jim Beam.
