Be something you love and understand
What a crazy weekend it was! Between Steve and his two sons, guess how many flat tires they had over a 6 day period? Come on, guess. I'll wait. 11! Yes, eleven flat tires in 6 days between 3 trucks. Steve had 1 last Tuesday on his way home from work and another one on Friday night on our way to Belleville IL for the races. We spent two hours in the driveway of a quarry in Dupo IL waiting for a tow truck. We made the best of it though. (Who knew a quarter could be so fun?) Steve's truck was about the size of the flat bed tow truck so when they pulled his truck on the flat bed and tried to raise it, the tow truck's front tires raised 3' off the ground. To say we were nervous would be an understatement. On our way home in the most uncomfortable trip of my life (1 hour of sitting on the hard console), Steve's son calls and tells him that someone slashed his and his brother's tires. So that brings us up to 10 flats until Sunday afternoon when Steve's youngest calls to tell him he hit a curb and popped one of his new tires. That brings us to 11 flat tires in 6 days. Craziness!
Despite the time and money Steve spent fixing/buying tires this weekend, it wasn't all terrible. His oldest son, daughter-in-law and grandaughter came to visit Saturday night on their way from AR to Champaign IL. It was a good visit and Steve loved having his whole immediate family together at his house.
